Toshiba starts mass production of memory modules manufactured on 15 nm process
The Japanese company Toshiba announced the mass production of the world's first memory modules made by 15-nanometer process technology. The first models will be 128 Gigabit (16 Gb) chip NAND flash memory, which will be produced at the factory Toshiba - Fab 5 in Yokkaichi.
Their production is scheduled by the end of this month. These modules will replace the
second-generation memory modules manufactured by 19-nm process technology. The new chips will provide a similar write speed as the previous generation, but it will increase the data rate by 1.3 times - up to 533 Mbit / s. The main purpose of presented memory - smartphones and tablets. It is planned to expand their use in laptops and after the development of the appropriate controller, compatible with SSD (SSD).
