MTS-Ukraine: more than 22% of subscribers use smart phones 

The mobile operator "MTS Ukraine" announced the statistics on the number of smart phones that are registered in the network of the results of the 1st quarter of 2014.

In the 1st quarter of 2014 the number of
smartphone users "MTS Ukraine" has increased by almost 50% compared to the end of the same period last year. Total number of smartphones exceeded 5.1 million units. Thus, the penetration of "smart" phones in the network operator was more than 22%.

The greatest growth dynamics demonstrated smartphones based on operating system Android, their number has increased by almost 120% compared with the 1st quarter of 2013. In the first three months of the year the trend towards an increase in the growth dynamics of smartphones based on iOS, and Windows - compared to the same period last year, the number of such devices has increased by 55% and 51% respectively. However, in the MTS reduces the number of devices based on the Symbian operating system and bada: the number for the year decreased by 31% and 44%, respectively.

Number of smart phones in the MTS network on March 31, 2014 (TOP5 most popular OS):

1. Android - 3111000 pcs.;
2. Symbian - 994500 pcs.;
3. IOS - 561000 pcs.;
4. Windows - 255,000 units;
5. Bada - 153000 pcs.
